ABOUT DEUX CLASSICAL VOCAL DUO
Ms. Jarrell Johnson and Ms. Malek made their official debut as Deux Classical Vocal Duo in the fall of 2017, and since that time have sung together in numerous concerts throughout South Texas and beyond, including collaborations with members of the Austin Baroque Orchestra, the San Antonio Symphony, and Sonido Barroco, and as featured singers for Houston Early Music, Musica Sacra San Antonio, the San Antonio Choral Society, the American Guild of Organists, Musical Offerings, Musical Bridges Around the World, and the Tuesday Musical Club of San Antonio, among others. They have appeared on the Artist Series at the Texoma NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) Conference, have been regularly featured artists on Texas Public Radio, and their recent Christmas album, Christus Natus Est, was released on Centaur Records through Naxos in 2022. Deux brings their audiences a variety of historical repertoire from early sacred motets and baroque cantatas to 19th century art song and opera, as well as contemporary commissioned works. Deux is available for formal concerts, lecture-recitals, house concerts, special events, sacred music programs, educational and community programs, master classes, and career talks to young performers.
